Thank you very much for the photo I had just turned 11 and was in the boys pen first Everton game for me

You are welcome. I would have been just in front of you as a Gwladys Street Season Ticket holder. I tried to find the press cutting of the game in my collection but sadly seem to have mislaid it. Hope the game tomorrow enhances your Christmas.

On Christmas Day in 1888, Everton played TWO matches then one more on Boxing Day...

In the morning, they played a Lancashire Cup tie which was followed by an exhibition game in the afternoon.

On Boxing Day, they played rival club Bootle.
