Evidently he was a terrific flying winger - Until away at Chelsea Roy Vernon the captain placed a through ball to him & he heard Tommy Rings leg snap twice in a collision with the Chelsea Keeper - he was never the same speed wise & the Catt sold him on ....... we had signed him for a bargain price, but lost out - my older brother reckons he terrorised defenders with his pace in his pomp .....
