They have now turfed grass in a nylon mesh, so they roll it out like carpet, plus the drainage systems are A1 plus they are virtually laid on Horticultural washed sand/gravel which absorbs the water - hence you see the sprinklers on even when it's wet weather - plus types of grass seed has advanced tremendously, shade loving grass seed etc with faster germination ......Why doesn't grass gut up as badly on modern pitches?
