Everton not being 4th bottom and shipping in goals anymore seems to be annoying everyone

Organising the shambles he inherited into a coherent defensive unit in such a short time is excellent work. Gone is an Everton side that was utterly bereft of organisation and perhaps the mentally weakest Everton team I've ever seen with maybe the exception of Mike Walker's Everton. It was a side that would have got turned over by Walter Smith's side.
He has been critical of the team when in possession of the ball and this aspect of his tactics is obviously something that needs a lot of work and quite possibly different players. If the attacking side of things had improved at the rate the defending has it would be nothing short of a miracle and yet there are a load on here demanding the manager be sacked for not working that very miracle in 6 or 7 games.
It was one poor performance against a poor WBA side under a new manager who hasn't had a pre-season to work on players, hasn't had any input into recruitment and has had, in a very short space of time, to try and get a tune out of a side who couldn't beat Limassol at home, conceded 4 away to Southampton and 5 at home to Atalanta.
He's way ahead of schedule. You shower of Geordies.

It's a mindset issue with BFS. He's an excellent defensive coach. But he's a moyes type, more concerned with the opposition than ourselves. It's 15 years since he put together a cohesive attacking outfit. I don't have any faith in him other than stabilising us in the very short term. I still hope we are looking to replace him in the summer.
