BBC SPORT | Football | African | Obinna to fight for Inter place

There is growing speculation in the Italian media that English Premiership side Everton are back in the hunt for the striker, having attempted to sign him on loan in August.
The Liverpool club - who are currently facing a shortage of attackers -were, however, previously unable to secure a work permit for the former Chievo Verona player.
An Everton spokeswoman declined to comment to BBC Sport about the reported interest.

The attacker has also been linked with a number of other Italian sides, including AS Roma and Napoli, as well as French side Marseille and unnamed Spanish clubs.
"I have heard of [the interest from] Everton and other clubs through the media here but I am not paying too much attention to that."

Still a problem with a work permit an all that, but still, he is a great player...

How much would he cost though? if all these other clubs are sniffing around Inter are gonna want to sell rather than loan and I don't think we could afford to buy him

He'd be a good signing, we'd probably get him if we tried to sign him permanantly. If we try to sign him on loan we'll get rejected again.

He can play upfront, he played as a second striker for Nigeria. I think that's his natural position...

I don't think anyone can comment on him, because i can almost guarentee 95% of this forum has never seen him play.

The Olympic games where live on the BBC website. I'm sure alot of Evertonians who where looking out for Anichebe saw him play. I certainly did.

Thats a fair point mate,i certainly havnt bar the youtube clips i have seen, he seems a player of potential though and ability from the clips i have seen i supporse the key would be consistencey, i suppose most people would like to comment given thats its nailed on that there has been concreate intrest there and we came within a frustratingly bad management cock up from signing him. we do need a winger especially if Arteta is to begin to play in the centre!

But then our record with Inter Milan wingers aint the greatest!

I've seen a few clips of him running at defenders, which is good, except he looks like a car pulling a caravan that's going to fast and is swerving around.

ACN problems too, so only a loan i hope, although I don't see why we would be able to get him a work permit now after being refused only a few months ago.

He is not a winger. More of a second striker finding space wide, but I don't see him playing as wide midfielder in 4-4-2 or 4-1-4-1 system.
On the other side - we somehow survived with Anichebe playing there, so maybe he can do it too.

True, but he's played alot as a wing forward. I think he'd be fine in a 4-1-4-1...

Arteta and Pienaar aren't wingers either, doesn't mean they can't do a job outwide.

This deserves a honourable mention.

Don't know much about him to be honest. I'm firmly in Chico's 95% camp. Only seen him in a few clips on youtube and he looks a quite capable player on them. Then again, there still some clips to be found on youtube, who make Av/dM look half decent.

Can see this one happening though. Think Moyes kept watching his situation and still will look to bring him in. Don't think Inter want to sell to an Italian rival and the African/Nigerian contignent, currently at Everton won't harm our chances also.
