not that far from dreaded relegation

As I said in my subsequent posts and in other threads I predict wins against Liverpool and United - I remain optimistic that we will get it together. It's a disappointing start to the season and quite frankly a bit shocking that we are where we are right now given the talent and potential (it's not even potential, we know how great this team is).

In Roberto I Trust.

I would take two points right now were away from home for both these games.

I recommend getting behind the team and having a bit of blind faith, not shouting 'oh dear we may go down' after a defeat in which we had 76% possession. By the same token, Southampton may win the Champions League next season. Likely?

Relegation bound teams do not beat Wolfburg 4-1. Simply, you can't win every game, defeats happen to all teams. Do all teams that lose a match go down? In that case it's bye bye LFC and Man U too.

This is more than a bit silly, I think.

Whilst I agree with you re getting behind the team, Groucho and I don't believe for a moment we will go down, relegation bound Wigan totally outclassed us on the road to Wembley and when they got there they defeated Citeh :)

I suspect reality will come crashing down about 2.30 on Saturday mate.

Have you ever seen a team in this league that had 5 points after 7 games (and that is possible) and finished somewhere around 5th place? I don't think I have.

Maybe Spurs in Redknapp's first season but they invested heavily in January and still finished only 8th. I wouldn't be happy with that.

In 2011/12 Arsenal only had 4 points from their first 5 games and finished third, so I think we can avoid the panic.

Although actually I like panic, so...

Am starting to get a little fed up with Bobby,( never thought I would say that) but he just doesn't seem to learn from his mistakes, god I hope I'm wrong.

We'll be fine once we steady the ship and get some confidence back into our twitching with fear back line.

But I think there might be a couple of poor results heading our way before that happens, starting on Saturday.

I mentioned I was getting concerned yesterday, but worrying about relegation is crazy. My concern was for the top 6! We have the best squad for a long time, just need to cut out the stupid mistakes.

I think we will be in the relegation zone after the next 2 games I must admit, as I can't see us getting more than a point, but putting that into context, we will have played Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Man United in the first 7 games. We will finish top 7/8 IMO.

Swansea, Villa and Soton are in the top 5 at present and will all do well to finish in the top half come the end of the season. 5 games in FFS!

Good case study this. Form is temporary, class is permanent. Arsenal had an awful run of games until the second international break. During that time they lost 8-2 to United, lost their derby and lost to the likes of Blackburn Rovers (4-3, no less). And then finished third.

We've got the players, we've got the manager, everyone needs to chill. Plus we're going to win Europa so there's that.
