He is only doing this to con money out of Moshiri as well, trying to pretend he's got no striking options by repeatedly playing his mate when its abundantly clear to everyone he is abysmal.

Of all the reasons I can't stand him as a manager, this is the one that does my head in the most. Simms or Dobbin (or both) would have scored more goals than Rondon if given the same number of games; we'd probably have more points too.

I feel that this will be a pyrrhic victory, in that, we'll win only by definition of the fact that Norwich are the only team worse than us in the division.

We'll hear all the 'I told you so' stuff from Benitez and his mates in the media and 'corner turned' platitudes. It will effectively buy him another few months completely pressure free, by which point I can see us firmly in the relegation zone.

If we were to lose to Norwich, it would make it genuinely very difficult for him to stay in post - even with Moshiri in charge.

And I'm not saying I want us to lose, before anyone throws that at me - as we need points - just expressing my concerns about the wider impact a victory could have.

Staggering that rondon still gets a game. I can only assume that he used to regularly feltch benitez when they were in China together.
