We can push on without foreign aid, says Moyes | Mail Online

Moyes helped further disperse the disappointment of defeat by confirming he had rejected the chance to replace Gordon Strachan at Celtic.
'It did not interest me,' he said. 'I've never made any secret of being an ambitious manager, but I'm making sure my chairman and my club stay ambitious. I'm Everton manager and I'm very loyal, so there's no reason to go down that route and start thinking of anything else.

Nice read.

He's kidding himself if he thinks he can get more out of the team he has. In fact, that would require a new manager with a different approach to the players he has. That's not what he's suggesting I take it? Moyesie must have sunstroke if he believes massive investment isn't required at Everton if we want to win trophies and win them on a regular basis.

This is the same old same old with Moyes and finances: one minute he's bemoaning he cant compete and he'd love financial backing, the next he's backing the status quo.

Baffling. (n)

Tim Cahill Calls For Everton Investment - Goal.com

Cahill doesnt agree with Sir David tho.

Cahill said, "Hopefully, there will be the investment needed to improve the squad.

"Now we have a good platform for next season. We have a lot of great youngsters to come in, some were on the bench at Wembley - Jose Baxter, Jack Rodwell, James Vaughan.

"We have a lot of fresh talent and I just pray to God that all the lads stick together and stay here and next season we can all come back and give it another good go.

"I've played 30-40 games, got my goals, and I aim to have a massive impact next season.

"My hip is pretty sore, but you get loads of knocks in football and you have to get on with it.

"I'm very proud of the lads, proud of the club and everyone involved here. The fans have been amazing and considering the injury problems we have had with a very small squad, what we have achieved is tremendous for Everton."

Tony Hibbert has nicked Vaughan's shorts. He'd be quicker in his grave.

Wembley defeat will inspire Everton to break glass ceiling | Football | The Guardian

I still cant fathom Moyes over this cash issue. 'Mission Impossible' he quipped post match about our chances of beating one of the big spenders to a trophy, then he's saying how nice it'd be to do it without having to resort to the big investment route that makes that mission possible. Completely contradictory as always.

Maybe he could at least hold his chairman to this: "Last summer we didn't have the finances until late on," said Moyes. "I'd like to get the money a bit earlier this time and do some deals earlier."

Well, the window's open Davie, you have a wonderful relationship with your chairman (who's now gone missing after gorging himself on publicity), let's see if you can prise a few quid out of him and get the ball rolling.

Liverpool Echo.co.uk - Everton FC - News - David Moyes predicts bright future for Everton after Wembley heartache

This Echo interview with Moyes fills in a lot of the gaps left out by the nationals.

“I’ve always said I’m really ambitious and I’m making sure my chairman stays ambitious and I’m making sure the club stays ambitious. Because we have to hang on to the coat tails of the teams above. Last summer, round about this same time, I thought we really had a good chance of having a go, but we couldn’t quite get there. So we went with what we had and you know something? We’ve not fallen away, we’ve made progress. Sometimes you have to persevere as a manager, and I’m going to keep persevering and I’m going to keep persisting and hopefully we’ll get there together.
I do think Everton can match my ambitions. Aye, I do. As a football club they certainly can. There’s not many bigger clubs in England. Maybe other clubs have a lot of money, but does that mean they’re bigger? Not really. It may give you more scope, but I’m at a great football club, I really am.”

Moyes admitted that he wants his summer spending to be completed early this year, and believes that Saturday’s cup final appearance may help attract better players.
“If we talk about the Premier League being popular throughout the world and throughout Europe, then Everton will be getting mentioned here and there as well,” he added. “So we should be attractive, because if you aren’t getting to one of the top three above us, then you think Everton might be one of the best stops after that."

Phew! Big worry for me that he would accept Celtic's offer. Perhaps he will in the future but I think he sees a great future for us and doesn't want to throw a monkey wrench in the system going forward.

To be honest i was more worried about Chelsea thankfullly theyve gone for the big name appointment.

We forget how young Moyesy is hes the heir apparent to lauch us into the top four when Fergie, Wenger decide enough is enough, it will Moyes's time then hopefully with Everton.
