No money in the summer!

Here is another thing as well, Everton players are far mosre likely to pick up injuries then at other clubs, ever wonder why we have so much bad luck with injuries it is because - we lack depth in the squad. You never see Arteta or Cahill being taken of on 75 mins to give them a break there body eventually breaks down and are out for a few weeks. How many seasons have we had an injury crisis for now. - it get worse the older these players get.

I can list 2 board members that should be putting their hands into their very deep pockets to get is out of this mess as well.

Luckily my mate who's cousin works a short distance from a bus which goes near Goodison told me that we just invested in Cryogenic Freezing and that all our incoming revenue is to come from posting bad news and profiting from those who wish to hibernate all summer.

Not having to worry about flying abroad, you can put a few steaks in for when you wake up and helping the club. We're saved.

I've been saying the same thing myself. Moyes will argue that we have no experienced replacements or that it's too much of a gamble to rotate our best players. It's short-sighted thinking. Without giving them adequate recovery time we end up being without them for weeks anyway.

Just opened a fire sale on the team. Players are now there for the taking

I was waiting for someone to say this. Completely correct.

Zero ambition. Rodwell, Fellaini, Baines, Heitinga... it's open season in the summer, and a relegation fight to follow next season.

It floors me how we collectively as fans still put up with Kenwrong...

The league table looks respectable at present but we could easily finish outside the top 10 and that loss in revenue would make matters worse. There is a saying that you need to speculate to accumulate, well as it has been mentioned if we were to spend £30m on players there is no guarantee that it would significantly improve our league position (you only have to look at City who have spent £300m just to break the top 4) The biggest shame of it all was has been previously mentioned in this thread was the lost opportunities in 2005 and 2009 when we really could have had a crack of breaking the top 4 but failed to invest in the squad. However it is obvious that if we don't invest this summer and other teams do, we could shortly be in a relegation scrap within the next couple of years. Surely even Kenwright wouldn't be foolish enough to have this happen!!!!

why not? is anybody putting him under any pressure? anyone protesting? even the local press are failing in showing his failures. so he feels safe ATM.

It's already happening. This summer we had pienaar not wanting to sign and waiting for offers. Arsenal sniffing around jags. Teams sniffing around arteta, all admitted in interviews. These were then tied up on contacts we can't afford.

Then theres unrest in the squad, players mouthing to the press (heitinga), players going out on loan on not great terms (yobo, Vaughan). Then pienaar goes which then gives melt face redknapp the balls to try and buy our captain for **** all.

Now you've got rodwell and baines linked to every top team in the prem even before the season has finished and now a panic to try and keep fellaini.

The squad hasn't been this full of unrest under moyes and it seems a vulnerable team now. We are talking up to 8 or so players that could go. That is bad.

All because we don't have any money.

Peanut's mind was pretty much made up from the off and only a silly offer from the board would've kept him here. Good luck to him all the same.
Clubs will always try to ruffle a few feathers of the competition by sniffing around key players and staff, that's the nature of the football business and it happens in most walks of life.

One player spouting off doesn't mean the whole squad is in meltdown.

We have smallest squad in top half of league,we cant afford to loose the yak, vaughn, duffy, especially for asmall amount of cash,we could get a few million on yobo with a bit of luck!

Not surprised at all. With the finances as they are we have no surplus cash to spend. So in order to spend anything we'll have to either get some from the board (either current or new), or sell a player.

Are you surprised by the conduct of the board over a number of years which led to our current financial position?

I admit the situation is pretty precarious from my point of view, but I think it's a tipping point at the moment and that things could still go one way or the other. I think that Jags and Baines are content where they are. Reading between the lines it seems that Leighton was offered the chance to go to Bayern but declined it. Arteta was in two minds, but he was persuaded that we can match his ambitions. I think that the contracts are to protect our assets from walking out the door.

Heitinga would always angle for a move to a bigger club. I wouldn't take that as an indicator of unrest. It must be in Fellaini's career plan to be playing Champions' League football. It will be a question of how long we can keep him and how much we eventually get for him. Hopefully, by then, Rodwell is doing much the same job. Yobo was sent out with a view to a £5m transfer, plus it got him off the wage bill in the meantime. Ditto Yakubu. What actually is Neville's value? If Redknapp was going to bid for Giggs or Scholes would he offer any more?

The stuff about Rodwell and Baines is all paper talk. Jack has only shown glimpses of what he's capable of. With United in a record amount of debt, would they pay such a huge sum for an unproven player, even if they could afford it, especially when they could get Charlie Adam for half the reported price. Not forgetting that they already have Carrick, Anderson, Fletcher, Gibson, Scholes, Giggs and Hargreaves for the midfield berths. Baines would never cross Stanley Park. United have Evra, Chelsea have Cole and Arsenal are grooming Gibbs to take over from French international Clichy, so where would he go?

Players such as Mucha, Heitinga, Yobo, Yakubu and Vaughan should go because they're not in Moyes plans and because it releases funds to invest in the squad. If they were playing I think the only person who might still have a grumble would be Johnny. I've heard the players bemoaning their own performances but nobody complaining about lack of investment. It's been a very mediocre season by our standards in a tight and competitive league and yet we're still seventh. Hopefully we'll replace the players that I've mentioned with hungry, motivated players. Kingson from Blackpool is free and could offer competition for Howard. Obinna is another who is out of contract and could give us another option. Nugent is another one. We could improve without actually spending anything. The glass is half full.
