I know imagine if an imbecile such as me ran a hugely profitable football club established in the premier league and its associated riches, sky tv money etc ..... I would be well out of my depth.... hell I could be stupid enough to allow a young English midfielder with bags of talent to run his contract down so said business recieves nothing after years developing that young English talent, imagine how foolish that would be of me!

I may even sell a massive goalscoring talent at the beggining of the transfer window for what is an absoulute bargain to the buying club we compete against when the palyer has 2 years on his contract to run enabling the club to remain firmly in control of the situation until a replacement is found ........ you are right I would be well out of my depth ......
We are all agreed on that I think.

Someones taken this photo outside at everton training ground ! could this be him ?

That bit at the top shows how little you know as you seem to think the business only employes `players` ....... there are hundreds of employees at clubs
You really think Newcastle are successful??? ............ oh dear

I didn't say the club only employs players, but unless I'm mistaken people in here aren't getting bust up over us not replacing Olive the tea lady before the end of the month. And if you want to go down that route then even some of the 'traditional' employees of the club aren't as straightforward as a significant number of them would be considered part time or seasonal workers. Even having traditional employees doesn't change the fact that the players are the club's biggest asset and have to be managed differently.

I don't think Newcastle are successful, because Ashley is a poor football club owner.

Instead of trying to beat down arguments I'm not making, perhaps you can explain why, if it is so easy to run a club, so few are actually able to make a success of it?

I think running a football club might have a different business model to running a car dealership or an insurance brokerage or a McDonalds or a newsagents or a swimming baths. In fact they probably all have different business models to each other too.[/B]

You can't just say business is business, how hard can it be. Can you?

I would agree with you. My initial post/s were relating to transfer business and the general running of the clubs transfer business.
However those who shout `bedwetters` and the like, quickly escalate things out of proportion.

It is a forum, with opinions, mine is that football is just a business and operates much the same as other businesses, profit loss etc
The fundamentals are the same, I want Everton to spend big to win things, is that a good and profitable model? Who knows seems to work for some and not others.

Sheik Mansoor seems to be doing ok with little experience when he `bought in` as did Abromavich, of course Leicester are the exception
I take your point re Newcastle with the emphasis on `poor` Ashley is small time by comparison.

I think success is individual to the owner, for instance if I owned a football club my success would be premier league survival and the riches that
brings year upon year. I think all the Football Clubs in the Premier League are to be considered successful by just being there, out of the 96 clubs that make up the football league.
Again my opinion only

I like that this I'm pretty sure, correct me if I'm wrong, is our first interaction but you feel like you can make a summary statement about my personality.

And no. If you want to be successful in a business you have to have more nuanced knowledge of the subject matter. The way you're acting it's as though you think anyone with an MBA can run any kind of business.

Why do you ask for correction when you know this is our first interaction?

But that is what you did to me earlier, regarding my grammar that did not suit you ? I type fast on a football forum, if I contributed content to the
financial times I would be more professional, will do better next time thanking you.

Again just you`re opinion

How do you know what I think ?

I knew you had trouble with coherence. Saying "pretty sure" (relying on an imperfect memory) is not the same as being sure and saying "it's as though" (meaning it is like) is not the same as "it is definite that ..."
