I love the Utd game in 2005, all night the ball was flying about like a motherfcuker...

After he makes a save you can clearly see him saying "It's all over the fcking shop!" to the centre-backs, ha!

After he left Palace ...

Signed as a direct result of the 0-9 at RS. £1m from Brizzle Rovers. Contributed to our revenge in "The Greatest FA Cup Semi-Final Of All Time - Official". Fabulous keeper for us despite endless debates on our forums as to who is best all time Palace keeper out of him and John Jackson, (who single handedly kept us in the top flight between 69 - 73).
Also, named by Sven as MoM in Englands World Cup qualifier v Greece at OT in Oct 01. It may only be remembered for Beckhams free kick but Nige played a blinder and kept us in the game with a string of saves including two one on one's.

I'd not long started watching Everton when we got Martyn, loved the man. Ahhh, what I would have gave to have had him for a few more years:

Effing brilliant goalie, one of the best signings we've made in the past 20 years. Single-handily kept us up in 03/04 and was a MAJOR factor in us getting fourth the year after in my opinion. Would like the bloke do the circuit a bit more, would love to meet him and get a photograph. Was my first personal Everton hero, I used to play goalie as a little kid and my first Everton kit was the light blue and white one he wore I think he sometimes wore in 03/04 with his name on.

2nd most talented 'keeper to ever play for us in my lifetime by some distance. Such a massive shame we didn't get him when we could/should have earlier in his career.

Weird thing about Martyn is that for most of his career he was head and shoulders above everyone around him, including David Seaman, yet was perpetually in the shadows.

Got a signed worn shirt from the man himself on the occasion of my 40th birthday....it's huge! Also had a card with a nice message in from Gary Speed....God rest his soul.
