I don't think Farage is a racist at all. He's certainly nowhere near the likes of Tommy Robinson or EFCNik. On many points I actually agree with him - there should be a restriction on movement and there certainly shouldn't be a blanket ban on discussing membership of the EU, or on a referendum for the British people after forty years. I agree with him too that the EU model is outdated and doomed to fail.

It's actually not Farage I have a problem with - the problem is that, him aside, pretty much his entire party are the upper class version of the EDL. They're not arsed about the political discussion of this, they just want the darkies and Igor from Romania to go away.

The reason Farage wins these debates hands down is because he talks sense on many issues and on quite a few he's even-handed on the debate (except his dismissal of EU financial benefits to our economy right now - dismissing that loses him a lot of credibility overall). The reason he'll never actually be in any position of power is because 99% of his party doesn't.

Clegg has fell down in the debates because whilst he has the correct argument on economics, he's not prepared to actively address the concerns of the common man in relation to the societal detriment of immigration. It's not as bad as the likes of UKIP make out, and if he approached the matter in a calm, rational way, he'd probably win - but instead he's scoring own goals with that Indian leaflet and scaremongering about UKIP.

I think it's also probably time to stop treating them as a political joke. They become a bit more credible and little more popular by the week.

As an orator Farage does very well, he sticks to whatever he knows he can say with credibility, his use of highlighting career politicians brings another section of disillusioned people into the debate, however, not all of this is to do with charisma and political views, it is as much to do with the opposition, Clegg is an absolute ar*e of the highest order and carries an air of superiority that is beyond patronising to the public.
There doesn't appear to be a credible spokesperson for the pro EU stance, which, imho, is a good thing. The EU is the truest definition of corporate fascism and shoukd be dismantled as soon as possible.

I watched a bit last night. I did enjoy the way that Clegg chap was shown to be the lying scumbag career politician he is. As for ukip, why anyone would vote for an outfit that started out as a state sponsored party by the security service MI5 is beyond me.

It's a fair point. He's being made to look better than he might be because of what he faces and people keep challenging him on areas he knows he can win people over with. He also possibly now looks more of an authority and more sensible by jettisoning people like Godfrey Bloom.
