NFL 2022 Season

Apologies, I edited my post while you were replying.

The YAC is clearly a feature of Kelce's individual skill as a player. The only other Chief to come close to it is Smith-Schuster, as I already pointed out. It can't be called a facet of the style of offense if the majority of the receivers don't deliver it.

More to the point, YAC is created by the receiver, not the QB. QBs with big yardage + low YAC are clearly better passers than QBs with big yardage + big YAC.
Kelce is a lesser weapon than Hill and he hasnt been missed. This is the last time I am going to say this to you, because we are going round and round in circles here but if Hill's production hasnt been missed, what makes you so sure that Kelce's would be?

And due to Hill's incredible skillset, its not good enough to refer to Kelces undeniable set of of skills as being 'irreplaceable'.

Cleveland needed this game more than Cincy. As others have stated, Browns can run the football and have an above average defense. Sometimes in the NFL where you fall on the calendar/schedule determines the outcome.

I wouldn't look that much into the Bengals' performance last night, at all. Kind of ran into a buzzsaw situation

Im just saying he has replaced Hill by spreading it round the other (far weaker) WR's while Kelce is just doing what he has always done. If Kelce left, then the WR's would likely have to shoulder some more of the load, and I am sure they would. Another 20 catches to this point between them maybe if an average TE was brought in a replacement?

Look at Rodgers who loooks lost without Adams in tow. Mahomes has handled the change perfectly. No, I wouldn't fear losing Kelce at all with Mahomes still there.
Yes, this is Mahomes to a degree. But his coach is arguably the best, most consistent offensive mind the NFL has had for the last 20+ years

Fully agree Andy Reid is a genius. Take away Reid and you might see more issues than losing Kelce, IMO.
I don't think there's any doubt, based on this body of work, that Reid's offensive schemes trump the talent on the field. He makes average players good, and good players great.

And when he's able to add top, top talent to play his schemes, it's unbeatable at times.

At this point both JuJu and MVS who to me are average to above average players and no more than that are BOTH on pace to get over 1000 yards each.

Which speaks volumes to the level of offensive wizardry being constructed by Reid and executed by Mahomes.

Hill's production hasn't been missed because Kelce is now delivering it.

Kelce's production from previous seasons is now being delivered by two lesser players (JSS and MVS).

Hill & Kelce are by far the best receiving targets KC has had in a decade. One has gone, and the other has seen his importance to the offense increase as a consequence. If he (Kelce) was to go, you're arguing that his production would be covered by the #3 and #4 WRs, and a new TE. But they're ALREADY struggling to cover his production from last season - they cannot deliver the YAC that a short- to medium-range passing attack relies on.

Your reference to Rodgers in GB explains it well. If you take away all the decent targets a QB has, look what happens.

Kelce's elite. I love watching him play and hope he stays fit all season. I'm amazed you don't see his value ?

Struggling you say? JuJu alone will match Hill at this rate. And JuJu is no Hill. Kelce is performing as he has every year.

Tyreek Hill 2021: 1,239 yards

Travis Kelce 2021: 1,125 yards

Mecole Hardman 2021: 693 yards

Total touchdowns: 20

JuJu pace 2022: 1,200 yards

Kelce pace 2022: 1,343 yards

MVS pace 2022: 996 yards

Total touchdowns pace: 22

I'd say the Bengals have me worried now.

The OL is still not good enough. 29 sacks in 8 games, running game has regressed. Taylor still calling the plays and making some ropey calls.

The D is struggling to stop the run. Reader is out hurt, the LB corps is lightweight and far better against the pass than the run. Reports suggest CB #1 Awuzie may be out for the season with an ACL injury and the newly-drafted DBs (Hill, Taylor-Britt, Andersen) have all missed time due to injury.

Really need to see OL and DL step up dramatically.

Just looked at your schedule, while its not too bad now, from the Chiefs onwards its utterly brutal.

By rearranging this season's receiving stats in order of total yards you can see exactly what I'm saying.

Kelce is replacing Hill's 2021 output.

JSS will cover Kelce's 2021 output.

MVS is never going to match / exceed Kelce's production because he is a totally different beast in YAC terms. That's why Kelce is the focus of the YAC-based offense, despite being a TE. That's why you'd miss him if was absent for a game, just like Burrow missed Chase last night.

You're arguing that Kelce isn't valuable, but citing evidence that demonstrates he is.

Erm why arent you accepting the reality that its JuJu who is covering Hill's output? They do both play WR1, you know.

Kelce is your leading receiver in every single category.

Last year Hill was.

Ergo, Kelce has "replaced" Hill. He may play a different position, but Reid is using him as the primary target. Line him up at TE by all means, but he's posting WR1 numbers every week. Why on Earth don't you value that?

JSS is doing exactly what he does best: being a great WR2.

Just seen on Twitter that Adam Zimmer has died.

Only 38 years of age.

No age that
