NFL 2022 Season

Surely they will turn it around. The Defence has been really disappointing so far.

I'm not so sure about it. They look like a team who will go 7-10 or 8-9, and at best 9-8. They still have to play the Bills, Rams, Eagles and Cowboys.

The defence is poorly coached and plays soft coverage. They have lost the turnover battle in 5 out of 6 games and never won it. They don't get big plays on special teams but give up very big plays. The offence needs to be run led but it's not the Packers way and MLF and Rodgers don't seem to want to let it happen - for example, they couldn't move the ball at all in the first half yesterday, but Aaron Jones, the best player on offence, got 3 touches. They just don't have the talent at receiver to be the usual deep threat passing Packers side.

It's also not normally the Packers way to make the mid-season trade to fix the area of biggest concern, and go and get the receiver. It's not normally the Packers way to go out and make the big free agency signing, like a Beckham.

I don't think it fixes itself and I think the best case scenario is a 7th seed and one and done in the wildcard round. If I was a betting man, which I'm not, I would bet on them not making the playoffs. If the Vikings don't win the North from here, then they have had a shocker.

The Chiefs v Bills stats make for an interesting read:

Mahomes threw ten times to Kelce, for eight catches, just over 100 yards and no scores. His next most regular target only got five passes, but caught all five for 120 yards and a TD. Beyond that it's a bunch of journeymen getting two catches each (more or less).

Either the Bills did a decent job keeping the Chiefs passing game from exploding, or the Chiefs passing game is a paper tiger...

Mahomes has historically only really trusted Kelce and Tyreek Hill. Now, with Hill gone, it looks like Mahomes in danger of becoming over-reliant on Kelce. Of course if the TE is always running routes then it's harder to get your run game going - and the Chiefs running stats seem to suggest it didn't get going against the Bills.

Chiefs should still make the playoffs because their cupcake schedule means their only tough games left are the 49ers, Rams and Cincinnati, but the Kansas defense is giving up an average of 25 points per game against teams like the Cardinals (2-4) and the Raiders (1-4). They're in danger of being undercooked come January.

Bills and Jets both starting to pull away from the Dolphins - the carnage in Miami's qb room couldn't have come at a worse time. Jets might not make the playoffs but they look EXACTLY like a team that will stop someone else getting to the playoffs in a late December must-win game.

AFC North looking, as always, like a bare-knuckle brawl. Most seasons there will be two decent playoff contenders in this division but all four teams just beat the living hell out of each other so that whoever DOES come out on top is too best up to progress much further. And that's what we'll see again this year IMHO. Cincinnati's OL is still shaky and the marginal improvementd in pass protection seem to have come at the expense of the running game. I can see this being Mixon's last season as a Bengal.

Right now I'd predict the following as the Conference Championship games:

Rams @ Eagles
Ravens @ Bills

But everything could change in two or three weeks. Love the NFL because of this!

Good game between the two best teams imo. They both have weaknesses though, and I really think the Bills need to get a proper run game going

On another note, my fantasy team absolutely went to the moon

Please don't do this

Now then. Never been to a NFL game before. I did many years ago visit Wembley when they had the European league, that was wow about 30 years ago. Anyway am in New York over new year and son wanted to go to a game. So we are off to see the New York Giants on 1st Jan. Any recommendations on how they are doing, star players to look out for. Should be a good day our right?

They are looking much better, strongest they have been in 5 or 6 years. Their best player is Saquon Barkley the running back.

We’ve had our best start to a season since winning the SB in 2011, Saquon is our best player but we have a fair few underrated guys too

Worth noting though, although we are a New York team, we don’t actually play in the Big Apple, ourselves and the Jets share a stadium across the water in New Jersey

Ah so a good time to come and watch them. Yes aware of the stadium being in New Jersey just planning the days and trying to figure out the best time to get there and how etc.

Wild game last night. Dhop makes such a difference to the Arizona offence, a lot of those drives would have collapsed without him there. The Cardinals D really came through aswell.
