Sean Mcvay is a pretty overrated coach if you ask me. His playing calling genuinely confuses me at times.

His offense in 1st-2nd down is all play-action. It works great when you can run the ball. However RBs are supposedly worthless so proper team building means that you spunk for minimum salary chum at what might be the most important position in a McVay offense. Because a D isn't going to get fooled by a play fake to Sony Michel they don't respect your play action.

In other words your offense, despite being quite talented is Andre Gomes. Once a month a squad player RB has a good game and they look like absolute world beaters. It makes them capable of knocking off anyone in a given week, but they'll lose the next week.

They are extremely full of themselves. It would be hilarious if they lost to the reeling Cardinals but more likely the Packers will trounce them again.

They're fast becoming one of my most-hated teams, second really only to the 49ers. As a Saints fan since the late 70s, I still have mental scars from the old NFC West days when we got whipped twice a year by San Fran, scars that will never really heal. Then come the Rams, who get the benefit of the biggest blown pass interference calls of all times three years ago, then yesterday allow the Niners to go 75 yards with about 1:30 left in regulation AND NO TIMEOUTS to force overtime and eventually eliminate New Orleans, which would have advanced with a Rams win.
Bitter? Goddamn right.
Then again, losing at home to Carolina, Atlanta and the (sobs) Giants, even with all of the injury problems we had, means we really didn't deserve to be in the playoffs. Still, it hurts.

Chiefs 13.5 point favourites over the Steelers

Every other game between 3 and 7 points.

Big Ben is going to get the Marino treatement for his last game in the NFL

I don't really get this why'd they call a timeout thing. The Raiders were lined up to run a play when they called it.
I think I understand the timeout. If they stop the Raiders on 3rd and 4, Vegas probably lets the clock run out and the Chargers get the result they needed. But LA had their one chance to earn the tie. The Raiders ran the ball three times in a row when you normally would not run the ball at all, and the Chargers failed to stop them. After that, too bad so sad.

So my take is the Raiders were playing to win while understanding a tie didn't hurt them. The timeout didn't change that. They were going to run the ball and kick a FG with 3 seconds left either way. Make the FG you win. Miss you tie and are in anyway.

Oline has been playing like garbage. When Rams went to SB last time they had a top 5 oline. Defense is also very top heavy and lacks depth. Donald, the Dline, and Ramsey are great but the linebackers and rest of the secondary are lackluster.

Snead spent all our top picks on Stafford/Ramsey so couldn't build the online back up.

Edit: can't forget the loss of Woods has been massive. Much more reliable WR than OBJ, also arguably the top blocking WR in the league. Also got quite a few sweeps to keep the offense more hard to predict

From where they were on the field, it would be a ropey FG if they didn’t get the first down. Like 55-56 yards. The Chargers got beat on the play before the timeout when they gave up 7 yards on 2nd and 11. Hold them better there and the Raiders never reach field goal range. They might even stop trying and you get your draw.

They still would have tried it. It wouldn't have been short indoors and if they missed the clock runs out and it is a tie. The play after the timeout was pretty killer too. But that play happens whether they call timeout or not which people seem to be missing.
