No one explained the replay situation at the end of regulation very well. I’ve seen this happen before and I’m pretty sure the referee was waiting to see if Seattle could spike the ball and stop the clock before it ran out. If they couldn’t, then the game is over and they don’t need to review the previous play.
The idea is that the referees don’t want to rescue a team scrambling to beat the clock by calling for a replay review. Once the Seahawks got the ball spiked with a second left, they were free to go back and review the last play.
