I find the whole Gruden thing so hypocritical. He's fired for making a slur years ago. Meanwhile there are constantly players up and down the league that have been charged with more serious offences (domestic violence, drug abuse, rape, criminal damage, carrying firearms etc). And yet somehow after the dust settles on such incidents, the players are back in the game and all is forgiven.
Just to name a few:
Richard Shearman - arrested on a DUI and domestic violence. Crashed his car and tried to break into his wife's parents house...free agent then picked up by the Buccs
Marshon Lattimore - arrested on possession of a stolen gun
Rashard Higgins & Jedrick Willis - Drag racing in main city streets
Melvin Gordon - DUI
Antonio Brown - Assault and battery. Free agent the picked up by the Buccs.
Kareem Hunt and Tyreek Hill were both charged with domestic abuse / battery to women, the latter punching and choking his pregnant girlfriend...yet both did not serve any jail time and were picked up by the Browns and Chiefs in wake of the incidents.
These are just a few of the more notable names, there are hundreds of cases over the last 20 years. NFL turns a blind eye to this stuff all the time.
The show must go on eh?
