Neymar is CRAP.

I can see him doing well at Barca but would of been better joining Madrid for the counter attack. I can't imagine barca letting him do all that showboating whereas Ronaldo is allowed to do it

The fact he's joined Barcelona instead of growing a pair and proving himself in Germany or England says it all. He took the easy way out. In fact, the only criticism I have of Messi is that he's not determined to conquer all European leagues to prove he's the greatest of all time.

Enjoy poncing around in La Liga Neymar; as predictable as your terrible haircuts.

yeah man joining barca would be the last thing id do as a footballer

i mean just imagine having to play with messi xavi iniesta et al at one of the worlds best clubs

i would be 100% concentrated on proving myself to internet gimps all over the world instead

Yeah, I mean it's really silly of him not to leave one of the biggest clubs in the world which he's been at since a little kid while playing with Xavi and Iniesta pissing trophies all the time.

only from one of us blues would you hear criticism of a player for staying at a club thats winning stuff! thats the kenwright effect for yer boys

You're being sarcastic, but that's pretty much what I'm saying yeah.

It's like a boxer winning the title and then fighting also-rans all the time, instead of taking on the pound for pound best and cementing his legacy.

I believe Messi is the greatest footballer who ever lived, so I'm not one to knock him, but I do believe that if he really had an ambition to be universally accepted as the greatest ever, then he'd be looking to test himself in new territory instead of playing it safe.

Clearly you've never read a post by me before on here.

It's not at all. He's still performing in the Champions' League and internationally. Why would he want to come to this league, say, when he could just perform exactly the same in sh*t weather with grocks trying to break his leg every game? Maybe he's not arsed whether people think he's the best of all time or not. Either way it's not like he's in the Russian league counting his money.

Because no matter what he does in Spain, there will be people who say he couldn't have done it in England or Germany.

The same criticism is applied to Pele, Maradona, Zico etc.

To be considered a great in tennis, you have to win the Grand Slam, which means doing it in on clay, grass, hard court etc. It's moving that way with football.

If Messi doesn't want to be considered the greatest of all time, that's his business, but in that case his fans should accept that a valid criticism of his legacy exists.

Them people are just talking bollocks then and don't matter. Of course he'd do it in England/Germany. Why should he move away from the club he's been at since he was a boy in a boss city with boss weather and a boss team based on what a few pundits/Internet users say?

thank goodness with that logic!

sorry mate but i cant make any sense of that at all. hes been there since he was a kid, barca have invested a lot in him, he probably loves the club, loves the city, no doubt has an emotional attachment to them, but he should just swerve it to go on a never ending mission to prove hes the best player in the world. playing it safe doesnt even come into it. he might want to set an unbeatable record at the club hes been all his life

i dont see how neymar going to barca is playing it safe either. hes been the star man all his career and hes coming into a team with the greatest player in the world (who also happens to be a bit egocentrical). it will be a big test for him to find his way at barca

of course if it all clicks then that will be boss for him and barca. but players with real ambition want to play with the best players around. playing it safe would be going somewhere where he'd be the biggest fish in a small pond (or stayin in the brazil league where hes a hero and the best player in the league)

For the exact same reason Rafael Nadal felt he needed to win Wimbledon instead of just the French Open.

You're saying "of course he'd do it in England/Germany", and I believe he would too, but the fact is he hasn't.

If I were in his shoes, professional pride would kick in and once I won everything there was to win at Barcelona, then I'd be looking at the next step. He's such a transcendental talent that for me it's a shame he seems content on spending basically his entire career at one footballing experience.

Loyalty is all well and good for decent footballers and an admirable trait, but for the likes of Messi it's different. As it stands he's just a top class Le Tissier - I'd like him to be a lot more proven than that given his obvious talent.
