Next year's captain

I'd prob say Rooney just because of his experience and influence on referees unless we get someone special in in the summer but it's also a bit of a worry that when the kids see him smoking biffters and chugging bottles of cheap cider behind the changies they'll follow suit.

Well most likely because Jagielka is off and who knows about Baines with his injury struggles.

Rooney also has zero credibility as a leader and a role model. Leaders don’t get caught shagging grannies, drink driving slags home and bringing their respective institutions into disrepute.

Coleman is the obvious choice. I’m sure Baines will get it though.

So you're certain that Coleman has never done anything untoward?

Or is it more likely that he may have but it hasn't been publicised?

Also, how do you know the woman he drank home was 'a slag'?

Have you done anything in your private life you're not proud of? Do you think it should stop you being a manager or having leadership capacity? How often does said thing come up at work? Let's say that you'd done the equivalent to Rooney in your profession in terms of achievements, do you think that staff potentially working under you would not listen / respect you because of something you did when you were 18 (if you are over 18, genuinely have no idea)?

Coleman has never had anything come up in the media, as far as I know he has never brought himself or his organisation into disprepute, Rooney has.

She was going back to a married mans house who’s she’d known for a few hours and admitted she would have slept with him. Not someone you’d take to meet your mother.

In my profession if I did any of that that I would be swiftly removed from my position and probably binned off to elsewhere. He lost his credibility by doing that, it’s irrelevant whether or not it’s a mistake.

I'm not sure age is irrelevant. If he's 32 now and made a mistake like that at 18 I would hope it wouldn't be held against you. But of course, I have no idea what it is you do.

As I say, Coleman is romantic suggestion and one i'm not against. If we want to improve our mentality as a club then to me the only one worthy of taking on such is someone who has proven they know what it's like to win.

We literally have one player who fits that: Wayne Rooney.

Imagine giving the captain’s armband to Rooney, a player that ditched us the first chance he got and is now treating the club as his last pay day. Hilarious.
Last pay day? If you watched the actual match he's the only one that's given his all for the club this season, him and bloody Niasse

Sure mate. Really giving his all when he got pissed and got behind the wheel of a car, instead of concentrating on getting his fitness up, wasn’t he?

Also, Sigurdsson has covered more ground than any player in our squad. But that doesn’t fit your narrative being a Rooney fanboy.

Sigurdsson ground coverage doesn’t really negate Rooney being one of our better players this season does it?

I didn’t even want him back but can acknowledge that
