Investment, a good manager in place you would hope 2-3 years time
One problem is to win a cup you usually need luck....and we always fall short in this department
2013 FA cup was the one we should have had. Favourable draw with Wigan in the QF. Would have been Millwall in the semi and a disinterested City in the final. That one still hurts

that semi against Millwall would of been fun

I'm fascinated to know what on earth the OP thought would be interesting or worthwhile about asking people to guess when we'll next win a trophy.
I'm fascinated to know why you are on an Everton forum if you don't want to read about what other Evertonians are thinking or would like to discuss with fellow fans.

Now walk along now.

League champions? It will be a long while. Leicester gave the big boys a wake up call last time around, so I reckon a repeat of something similar will be a long time coming.
Naturally that leaves a cup as the likely bit of silverware.
Forget the League cup in whatever form it exists, the footballing gods have put the crows on us ever winning that pisspot thing.
Our next trophy will be the FA cup as early as this season. We have been close but no cigar on a few occasions over the past few years. Our failures then have been down to managerial shortcomings rather than the team.
By the time the third round comes RK will have instilled belief into the players and we will be the ones to avoid.
;)

Unlike our 'lovable' neighbours, we are not delusional, as their victory over Derby obviously put them 'right back up their with Barcelona and Real Madrid'.

Unless we get a bit of luck in this year's F..A. Cup, it's gonna be another trophy-less season.

Ronald Koeman does not appear to place importance on cup competitions therefore it's very unlikely we'll win one during his managerial tenure. He's won many deserved plaudits for his aggressive and early use of substitutes during the great start to the league but waited until 22 mins from the end of a cup match, we were losing at home, to change things. His blase "well that's football" attitude afterwards only served to confirm that he simply sees the league as much more important.
If Everton is to be a stepping stone to a bigger job with Arsenal or even the Barcelona dream he has to make a big impact. I think he's calculated that he's far more likely to achieve that impact in the league by attaining European qualification for a team that finished bottom half before he took over. If that's the case, the statistics prove that he's absolutely right. Everton have won one cup in the 24 years of the premiership but have finished in the top 6 positions 7 times.
