Yes mate, I remember something about yet another European competition but aparently a Europa League spot has gone/going.
It's all getting a bit silly but another competition helps along towards EUFA's end future goal of European leagues, (much to the detriment of all the domestic leagues.)

Think its been confirmed 7th now gets you into the "Europa Conference League" in which if you win that you go into the group stages of next seasons Europa League.

Negative that you now need to break the top 6 to get into the EL however a positive is that the europa conference teams will be weaker therefore more chance of winning a pot.

Apparently now, whoever wins it now they don’t even qualify for the Europa League, has it now got as much glamour as the old
Johnsons Paint Trophy?

Correct it's always been a joke although I remember a rs neighbour had a flag up for 6 years when they won it.

I'm now in my 50's but I remember it being massive in the late 70's and 80's but just like the F.A. Cup it started to lose its appeal in the 90's.
A real shame cos it was special (as were the Cup Winners Cup and EUFA Cup.)

It was a media rumour that as usual was so wide of the mark its unreal.
