So if the 7 teams who finish in the European spots are not going to be entering the competition, would you be happy to win it even though there should be an asterisk next to the winners name?

I think the league cup will be Spurs first trophy next year. You've got to take advantage of your situation and after a year of recovering from their monumental bottle job, Jose will have them grinding.

Ha, I'm sure he was saying it with tongue in cheek. I'd agree it'd have to have an asterisk next to it, although most teams don't take this seriously anyway.

I've always said the the teams that qualify for europe shouldn't be in the league cup anyway.

Too big a fixture pile up for one

And for two its a farce seeing the same suspects like City & Chelsea win it every season - would give all the other clubs an actual chance of winning something.
