The Toffees are also in the chase for Portsmouth midfielder Sean Davis, who manager David Moyes sees as a replacement for the out-of-contract Lee Carsley. (Daily Mirror)

Rook that is not a big wage for top players nowadays (stupid amounts of money) if we are to improve we may have to re-think our wage structure.

That was inevitable mate, we should sign him because its doing my head in being linked to him every transfer window! To be fair i always liked him a prime example of a good player who has lost his way making decisons to move for money instead of football, a good solid signing! But i would prefer Sidwell as youth is on his side.

Problem there though is that Sidwell isn't anywhere near a top player.

I think Moyes is willing to spend the money on wages but it's got to be the right player at the right price.

Also remember that the minute one player's wages becomes that much higher than everyone else's, at least one or two current players' agents will come in asking for the bigger better deal for their players as well.

It's a fine line to be sure.

i vote for keeping Cahill and investing in a bionic foot for him with unbreakable metatarsals.

I think your onto a winner there Prawn...OR! we could clone Cahill so that when one has a broken metatarsal the other is fine and can play. (y)

Yea pretty soon Arteta, Cahill, and Lescott would get unsettled considering Sidwell might not even get into the starting 11. He'd have to drop to about 35K/week. I don't rate him very high anyway. He left a team where he was adored to a team where he could cash it in and rock it like VDM on the far end of the bench.

Yeah.

That black hole for promising football talent known as Chelsea FC.

It seems that really only SWP has escaped it's massive gravitational pull after a year or so of struggling from it's grasp.

But players like Sidwell and Bridge could easily be playing week in and week out at another club. I'm sure I've left one or two out.

or maybe Cahill is the final Cylon and thus if injured can be downloaded into a new body...
