There's a good piece by Graham Hunter on the ESPN site that discusses the positive affect that Zidane has had on Real Madrid since taking over and how highly he is regarded by his senior playing staff.

Worth a read - as it kinda dispels they rumour that his sacking is imminent should he lose the CL final.

http://www.espnfc.co.uk/uefa-champi...ne-has-rescued-real-madrid-in-just-six-months

A brief except below:-

What Zidane has achieved, nearly six months since taking over, states that whether he's a tactical maestro or not,
he's coached and man-managed in a manner that has convinced almost every single one of his senior squad. That's a massive achievement.

From day one until now, there's been a happier, more intense, harder working, more committed and more unified atmosphere at Los Blancos' Valdebebas training ground.

The fact that Sergio Ramos, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema have queued up to testify how wonderful it is to have him managing them is less relevant than the testimony of your own eyes. Judge the truth of their statements by looking at the increased work rate, confidence, and "bounce-back-ability" Madrid have shown since he took over. I'd argue that in the normal starting XI, there has been a sliding scale of improvement
for every player, with the possible exception of Keylor Navas who was already Madrid's best performer.
Your article reinforces my opinion that zidane's job is safe. They were in freefall when he took over not long after the public humiliation of being embarrassed at home by barca. They were out of the title race and in the end only lost the title by one point and has guided the team to a champions league final. Add to the fact he is worshipped by the real supporters and evidently the players judging by your article, then I fully expect (and hope) to see zidane's in the real dugout next season.

I hope the Mole surfaces in your garden and spells out SNIFF IT in massive great holes

Don't worry I will be waiting for him with a big heavy shovel.

I don't think he will dare raise his head above ground once his statements have been proven to be absolute nonsense.

If Perez is idiot enough* to boot him out after the CL final he would be my first choice; yes he only has six months experience as a manager but ffs its Zidane.

* which he is

reading back prior to Martinez getting the boot it sounds like the club was preparing to let him go at the end of the season anyway so they must have had some sort of plan in place with regards to a new manager. Like us signing players everything just seems to take so long and excitement slowly turns into frustration.

Feeling i get was, before the liverpool game there wasn't much of a "OH ME GOD LETS GET EMERY" train of thought around. After the match that changed.

He is most definately not a no body!

Same with Tuchel mate, IF dortmund would have battered the rs, he would have been massively popular a choice - after they lost though a lot of our lot went cold on him, no matter what we say - yeah someone who has piped them down big time - Mourinho, Emery - is always going to get a big upsurge in popularity for a good reason.

Just so happens that once you look into Emery a lot closer though, he is a bloody good manager to boot

His bonus's at Sevilla would be interesting reading as he has qualified for champions league three years running and had won trophies.

We would have to probably make that up in the immediate

Hes also third favorite to take over Del Bosque at Spain so hes not short of suitors... I read Joaquin Caparro is favorite, ironically hes the guy that a lot of people credit for installing the foundations of the current structure at Sevilla

I think he if he did get the sack then, then Moratti would give Mancini the boot and get Zizou in at the San Siro.

Aye like i said, i think i have probably been a little harsh on him for not being full on lets go for him. He is a good manager, he has a good record and wins things.

Id take Tuchel now hands down...!

Still cannot believe we not only bought a proven loser relegation-fodder (@CahillsCornerFlag - thanks for the description!) manager in, but then also proceeded to allow him to waste all of our money on further relegation-fodder players too! "What a manager!"
In fairness, with the exception of Niasse, the people he spent significant money on have done between reasonably well and very well.

There's an infinite number of reasons to bash Martinez - don't think we need to add wasting money to the list.

Obviously though, because that made it 3 Europa Leagues on the bounce which is massively impressive. Not the fact it was Liverpool he beat.

Plus the talk about him increased because of Rory Smith's tweets after the game!

Not wishing to be a kill-joy but doesn't anyone else get a sinking 'Juande Ramos feeling' about Emery? Similar record!
I'm swaying towards Mancini - 4 league titles and 7 cups in Italy, England and Turkey. Familiar with the Premier League and would look cool in an old-school blue and white scarf.

Caparros built a lot of that Bilbao side that Bielsa claimed the credit for (and then ruined) as well; though he is old now and those successes were some time ago.
