Next Gen consoles - PS4/Xbox One

According to Sony, 1million PS4s sold at retail level in the first 24 hrs in America. That's pretty impressive considering USA is more well known as an Xbox stronghold

Anyway i reckon if i get either it'll be the PS4. It's £80 cheaper, £30 even if you buy the PS4 camera, and has the potential to be a fair bit more powerful than the Xbox One. Then there's this:

The size difference says to me that while Sony have taken a lot of care and time putting together the console, MS have just shoved a gaming PC into a small case and called it a day. The PS4 even includes the power supply inside the machine itself, while the One comes with a fat power brick. Poor really.

The only thing I'll miss from the Xbox is the controller. The 360's, build quality aside, was second only to the GameCube pad in terms of comfort.

But I'm not going to pay more, get less and support a sh*tty company who were an inch away from sh*tting on their customers for the sake of a nicer controller.

So literally the only selling point of the Xbone, which is the Kinect, is utterly pooped on out of the box by the PS4.

Neat.

The PS4 controller is getting rave reviews by the way.

I'm in no rush to get either, I'll see how they both go for the first 6 months and then pick whichever one show most promise.
I've barely played any 360 in the last 2 years, so I need to catch up on some games there. Much cheaper and better bang for the buck.

For the Xbox? I wouldn't be surprised, the 360 controller is near perfect.

Nah the Dualshock 4.

We can say this unequivocally: The DualShock 4 is the best controller Sony has ever made.

The controller is just a little heavier, just a little bigger. It's much more comfortable to hold over long periods of time. Making even die-hard DualShock 3 haters on the Polygon staff converts, the DualShock 4 is the most immediately apparent improvement offered by the PS4.

There are several small touches that, as with the console itself, underscore a sense of general hardware quality and polish.

But our biggest complaint for a controller that some at Polygon otherwise consider the best they've ever used: the battery life.

Basically the only issue is that the battery lasts about 8 hours between charges.
