Isn't that due to the jobs being offered? Long term he put Bolton into Europe. Two years he got Blackburn into a cup semi after selling key players to balance books.

If he's remit is to keep a club up, he did that. Which is why based on rumours he wants a long deal with assurances.

Separate the man from his job and what he's done, he's very good at.

If moshiri is the true power and has long term vision and wants us to be successful he will sell the club to whoever he wants to come. If it doesn't happen and it's a cow pat manager I will have a worse opinion that I already have of him and tell myself this is it for Everton " as good as it gets "

Even if the unthinkable happened and Sam was appointed and people going on about giving it to him short term, he' going to want to spend 100m minimum in January and then what happens when he' given the boot? Stuck with even more players who a new manager might not want.

Like @matty1878 says, whoever we want, we go all out and get them now, have them do what they can with what' available until January and then do some wheeling and dealing like we've never had to witness before.

I change my mind about the new manager roughly every fifteen minutes - more often when I'm on this forum when I pretty much agree with every post I read, regardless of what it says. When Koeman left I was fully in favour of Unsworth until the end of the season while a thorough recruitment process is undertaken. Unsworth no longer seems to be the man to do that, but, unless the right man for everything we want to be in the future is available and willing to come right now, I'd still be inclined to go for a temporary manager, to instil some rigour, discipline, organisation, and pride and, most importantly of all, keep us up. I know it's only early November, but it can be March before you know it, and, while a win against Watford would put a different complexion on things, there's been nothing to suggest that's likely, and each game sees us falling further behind. I really hate to say it, but maybe Allardyce - for the rest of the season only - is the man for the job.

I think he is what he is: a geeky accountant who squirrelled away Usmanov's cash and got a pat on the head for it.

The feller looks clueless in the real world...more especially the football industry.

We needed a big name CEO from the off to get us past the mistakes a man like Moshiri would inevitably make. The fact that he didn't employ one and stayed with the clowns we already had tells you all you need to know about that feller's ambitions.

Look at the predicament were in lad. We're not going to be challenging for Europe that's for sure. Big Sam is the right man for the current situation. We tried with a 'hollywood manager' last time and look how that turned out.

All that's required is a decent win; something for us to hold onto and build on. And whoever is appointed the players will know it's at least medium term and theres someone they need to impress. We'll get a boost from that and from a new boss picking a consistent team...and also Barkley featuring again.

There's just no need for the nuclear option of Allardyce.

It wont be either. I'm convinced of that.
