After they sack Sam and begin the interviews for the next manager, Moshiri and someone like David Dein need to sit down with the prospective manager and say "right, we want exciting positive and winning football. This is our squad. What are your plans to make it work?"

It still is unbelievable how they ripped almost everything up after Martinez and went with Koeman's "big grock in the middle" idea.

Everything under Martinez finished bottom half 2 years in a row.

I want a manager from another club to come here, not an out of work manager.

In fact, perfect scenario would be if said manager's first signing was their most important player from their former club and then built his team around them rather than shape the existing players into his mould. So anyone who doesn't fit the mould are gone basically.

The idea behind Fonesca and bringing Fred here, along those lines. The equivalent of signing Conte and he brought Kante, or Zidane bringing his MVP from Real with him.

I'm not his fan at all, but at least there was an IDEA of what to do. Typically you don't just rip everything up and change the whole tactics of a club that radically in one summer. Martinez year 1 was what they should have tried to get back to. Not that Dutch divvy's idea of football.

Just had a flashback to Martinez bringing Kone, Alcaraz and Robles with him

Completely different mate, the evidence is in your post as well ;)

Robles (GK)
Alcaraz (DEF)
McCarthy (MID)
Kone (ATT)

similar as Koeman last year

Stelekenberg (GK)
Williams (DEF)
Gueye (MID)
Valencia (ATT)

bring one in each position when they come in.

What i am talking about is simply bringing 1, their main player. So the players we do have revolve around that player, and we strengthen as we sold who didn't fit in, if that makes sense. So rather than sign like the above no matter what, we decide 3 midfielders don't fit the manager, we sell them and replace them with 1-2 who do. We sell defenders, replace them with better etc.

Isn’t that what every club should do anyway?

Yes they should.

But last 2 proper managers we have had have bought a new spine of the team as soon as they walked in and built around that instead which generally hasn't worked for us

You missed the point
Roberto signed 4 players from one club , his former club Wigan
, the whole spine of a team that were relegated .and yes I know they won the FA cup.

Allardyce should be given a fair crack at this job he has an 18 month contract so any talk of sacking now is quite frankly ridiculous & complete nonsense....

If he then does not come up to expectation then of course sack him, calls to sack him after 4 months are complete balderdash & absurdity to the extreme...

How can you expect any manager to overturn a situation in 4 months....

What happens if the next manager has a bad run of games....do we sack him too

Allardyce is not and never will be good enough for Everton. He was a last resort panic appointment that has ran its course, he will be gone and rightly so.

He has an 18 month contract because we were desperate. AFAIR we wanted to give him 6 month only, but when we came back begging him to come over he got himself a great deal. It’s not like we wanted him long term from the beginning and it’s very telling. He won’t be here much longer. Especialy if Moshiri is making a clear out in the summer (and it’s seems likely due to Kenwright and Elstone rumours). Not a chance Allardyce will be his man to take us forward.

The reason we should sack him mate is that he shouldn't have been appointed in the first place. In my opinion he was the worst possible choice as manager. The longer he stays in charge the more damage he will do to the club. Reversing the decision now is the best way of ensuring damage limitation.

If we had lost on Saturday he would have been sacked, no doubt about it.

If he stays he will sign a 31 year old Vardy and sell Lookman and Vlasic, scary

Simple question then: what about his tenure as manager has you thinking he should be the one to lead us out next season? Was it the 20th in the league in shots since his arrival? Or his 20th in the league in possession since his arrival? Or was it the 19th in the league in shots against since his arrival?
