News of Ex Players

Same reason Leipzig and Fulham did and why Leicester weren’t interested.
Something didn’t click with him, be it attitude, application or whatever.
If he’d been hovering around our bench earning decent money for the last 6 years while we waited for him to come good, can you imagine to fume at why he wasn’t being sold off?

A lot of people seem to have very conveniently forgotten this.

He’s now 26 and it’s the first time he’s shown any kind of consistency at any club he’s been at.

From us, he went to one of the best clubs in Europe for nurturing and developing young players and even they couldn’t get a tune out of him either, hence why he was farmed out on loan by them.

We also made money on him and Leiipzig ended up taking a hit on him.

We were just one of the four clubs, prior to Atlanta, who tried and failed to get a tune out of him.

I liked him here but exactly as you say he’s hardly set the heather on fire with the exception of the odd performance here and there .

The amount of people who’ve forgotten he’s had two seasons in the prem with other clubs illustrates his performances whilst on loan .

It seems he’s found a manager and club that suits him , it has however taken him more than a few moves to find it

Exactly. Atalanta is the fifth first division club he's been at over seven and a half seasons. Of the three non-Everton first division clubs before Atalanta, all of them have generally been pretty good for young players breaking through, and all decided to move on from him. Two different Premier League teams had him on loan from the incredibly young talent friendly German team that didn't want him around within a year of signing him on a permanent, and neither made a move to keep him around.
Also his Everton contract was four and a half years from January 2017, so it would have been up in summer 2021, and for us the most realistic outcome if he hadn't been sold in 2019 was that he would've been sold at a cut rate in 2020.

The goal for us V City and last night.. the 2 times Lookman has impressed me... I'm happy for him yes, a European final hattrick would be a career highlight for most players and 3 very well taken goals.. but let's not get too disappointed about him not staying at Everton, this is the first I've heard of him since he left.
Pretty sure he did a Niasse (scoring to win against that lot) whilst on loan at Leicester in-between too
