He did ok as soon as we sold him ...Nope, he definitely had issues because it took a few clubs until he settled down

….ffs, what nonsense. Armstrong, Branthwaite, Iroegbunam, Garner, O’Brien and that’s just the current team![]()

He did ok as soon as we sold him ...
Still a youngster though ....@Joey66
Went to Leipzig on loan from us, had a good spell. They signed him, form dropped and he went to Fulham on loan. His form dropped and he ended up at Leicester on loan. Went back to Leipzig, sold to Atalanta and form improved but that was a good 4 seasons after he had left us.

That is where we miss the old reserve side set up, we had many late developers back then who came good - The Catt believed in youth .....But it didnt matter if he was or wasn't a youngster, he wasn't contributing to anything so we couldn't just sit there for 4 seasons hoping he came good.
He left, took him a few clubs to settle and maybe he found a home or the penny dropped with him and he got his head down and then the ability shone through.
Footballers these days aren’t going to sit in the reserves for 5 years waiting until they’re ready. Nor should they. That is where we miss the old reserve side set up, we had many late developers back then who came good - The Catt believed in youth .....
Big Joe did ....Footballers these days aren’t going to sit in the reserves for 5 years waiting until they’re ready. Nor should they.
Maybe if he is not ready , but why splash so much on him in the first place ????So Moyes is doing the right thing with Dibling then.
Good for him.Big Joe did ....
Played in the 1968 FA CUP Final in 1968 aged 19 years old - a Goal machine mate ...Good for him.
If he was around in 2026 I can guarantee you he wouldn’t.
Big Joe did ....
Remember when Rooney left us, won trophy after trophy at United, and became the greatest English player of his generation? Do you remember the sting of regret and frustration you felt that he wasn't doing that in a blue shirt? No, I've never looked at Ademola Lookman and felt that burn, I have to say.@Joey66
