Shame he didn't get to play a season under a decent manager in Moyes rather than the yard dog Dyche and with some actual ability around him rather than the brainless dross in previous seasons.

I think the sea change in DCL’s play was when Carlo told that he needed to be in the box and between the goal posts to score goals as a No9.I haven’t seen them all but the ones I have caught have all been from a good position directly in front of goal .

I’d love to see his heat maps and the teams general attacking patterns from those days.
Can’t recall if he was also expected to come a bit deeper to provide an out ball / hold it up or if he was just left to hover around the goal area while James and Richie etc progressed the ball.
