Newcastle United have won promotion to the Premier League after Championship rivals Nottingham Forest drew 0-0 with Cardiff.

Forest's failure to beat Cardiff sent the Magpies back up to the top flight at the first attempt ahead of their home clash with Sheffield United.
Newcastle boss Chris Hughton saluted his players after they secured their return to the Premier League without kicking a ball.
Speaking before the United game, he said: "This is a wonderful achievement and we are absolutely delighted.

Bringing balance back to the Premiership's blert-fans-quota, with Portsmouth going down.

We can only hope for Hull to go down too, to counter this.

I don't know, seeing the Tigers mauling the Zebras will be a blert fest extraordinaire,
I just hope that dirty fecker Nolan gets to sit the season out for some unforeseen reason, slip on something on hol maybe ? hamstring or knee prob after he gets caught in a rip ? Beach footy kick-around with a vengeful blue perhaps ?

Let them have their moment - no doubt another first division title going on their honours list as in 1992 (embarassing) ,but when the newkie brown hangovers have subsided they will realise that their club is still in a mess and next years target will not be an assault on the title, but a scramble for getting the magic 40 points..... fact.
