I get the impression from the media reports that Newcastle were unlucky, and should have won the game, can anyone tell me if this rings true.
They hit the woodwork before we scored and again after we scored.
They were the better side till we scored, we were better after that.
That's how I saw it/heard it/had it told to me by two guys at the game, one a Blue, t'other a Geordie.

I thought a team with slightly better forwards would have scored at least one against us, based on quality of chances.
Lucky it was Newcastle on the night in that respect.

I wouldn't say they were unlucky, they had a couple of decent attacks but couldn't put the ball in the net and apart from the two that hit the woodwork didn't look like they would have scored if they played all night, we went for every ball, fought for everything and got a goal from the man in the right place at the right time. I suppose you'd call it a game between a team that tried to play the beautiful game, and a team that wanted to win...bring on the swans.

We shall seek you out and pour bleach in your eyes.
We will however leave you bags of sawdust as an antidote
Having said that Williams and Holgate were impressive JJK was secure ( although Ritchie ran by him for the shot that hit the post) and Morgan and the rest were decent
I was very impressed with Vlasic when he came in
Put the work in , keeps the ball well and plenty of forward movement.
After last night and Cyprus I’d like to see him start ahead of Lennon on Mon night.
Him and JJK come become effective down the right , but if he stays a few years he our long term NO10

Actually I thought that Martina had his best game for us, apart from one mistake near the start. He always seems to want to shift to his right foot even though he put in a couple of decent crosses with his left, might be a confidence thing. Anyway he is improving.

first time away in Newcastle, had helluva time, was in bigg market and that after the game, ended up in some nightclub till 5am.. the result helped but I thouroughly enjoyed st james park (probly the best away ground ive been too) and Newcastle in general.
