There are a lot of serious questions about Mauriss. Some say he's merely a puppet of Ashley and a general consensus as an owner he would be much much worse than Ashley.

A good escape by Newcastle. The Saudi Arabian regime (Just like Citeh/Abu Dhabi) is not exactly 'non-corrupt' or have 'not got blood on their hands'.

I suspect most of their sane fans are secretly happy. I'm happy - one less multi-billionaire roadblock for us to leapfrog.

What message ar ethey giving to the Premier League? "You know that oppressive state who rob from you and don't pass the fit and proper persons test, that one you did everything you could to work with them and gave them clear goals what they had to do to be able to take over, the ones that then off their own back chose to walk away, we want you to go and make them want to buy us again".


If they partition anyone it should be the buyers. Why are they murdering people. Why aren't they more democratic as a society? Why have they walked away? Why didn't they show proof of funds? Why do they steal from the Premier League?

The Premier League can offer them little in this instance. It's their precious buyers, who are neyond any scrutiny who have let them down here. They've taken a closer look at Newcastle, and when it got towards decision stage gone "nay thanks".

The Saudis have wanged it before they were rejected imo, to save face. They’ve also run out of time on their exclusivity agreement so Ashley can talk to to other interested parties, as is doing.

Yes probably. I mean I think you have a few different layers to this story. I don't think Saudi top brass were even aware of this, and in truth the rung down probably started to get cold feet. What I think we can safely say, is they never had any intention of investing heavily, and most of the PR they/Staveley hasput out has been proven to be utter rubbish. They were briefing over the last few days it would go through. Complete blaggers. They're the ones who've pulled the jawdies pants down here.

Well it's perfectly reasonable if you ask me.I mean an Iranian Accountant, and the Saudi state are fundamentally different. Very few billionaires are nice people and squeeky clean, but hat is a world away from genocidal regimes who are funding right wing fundamentalists to reek havoc over a continent.

If one thing has come from this, you hope its the PL have now ade it very clear that such regimes and countries are not welcome in the PL. It's a genuinely great day for the PL.
