Of course absolutely nothing will happen apart from a further "Newcastle United's owners have provided further evidence to the Football Association that there is no connection between the Saudi Public Investment Fund and the government of Saudi Arabia". End of case, even though everybody knew at the start that they are being run by the State, and will continue to be so. I guess enough people are having their palms greased for it to be allowed to continue, or go ahead in the first place.

They will also, like us, hit the financial spend wall. I fully expect plenty of Saudi based sponsorship, but globally, in terms of profile, they are a nonentity.

I don’t know what the problem is they have with Everton, I haven’t noticed anything negative going on between the clubs to start something like that. It can’t be just about Pickford surely?

They’re forcing a rivalry with us based on Pickford and the fact we’re probably an easy target right now. It’s what small clubs do to make them feel big. They’ll always be a tin pot club from the north east who are smaller than Sunderland.

It’s all a bit odd isn’t it. From what I’ve read on social media some of their fans have this chip on their shoulder about being a big club, being seen as bigger than certain clubs.

Part of it comes from the fact Sunderland and Everton have been relatively close in recent years (obviously all relative). With your gesture for Bradley Lowery etc. Obviously Pickford as well, and all the Everton players we've had as well. They can't stand the idea that they're not everyone's second team.

But generally Mags I know think you're "bitter" about their success and jealous (as are we apparently).

I think your fans online have also been especially outspoken about the moral bankruptcy of their supporters, which they can't live with.
