I'll be honest mate, I have been (and still am) good mates with some belting Geordies.
As a people I've (nearly) always got on with them.
In my experience Scousers and Geordies usually do.

I've also met some monumental turds who support Liverpool, who let all common sense escape their body when you try to talk about football.

It's a mess, to be honest.
