On the Bobby Robson post, Freddie Shepherd was the driving force behind him leaving and Shearer wasn’t squeaky clean as he felt the dressing room was becoming an issue. Souness then came in and made it 10 times worse. The large majority of fans were livid at the sacking of Robson; it was his last season and Shepherd took that away.

It’s true we regularly take less than 1500 fans to your place. The fact we haven’t played on a Saturday at Goodison since 2010 goes a long way to explain why. Almost all have been evening weekdays with no trains and a 3 hour drive back starting at 10pm if you’re lucky. There’s not many ex pats in the North West .
