Sing loads of Everton songs yeah, but not songs of other clubs.

My point is that there is a world where an investor buys into a club as an investment vehicle, as opposed to pump money in. Both are possibilities.

True enough, but I don't buy that a Premier League club that isn't competing is a good investment. If a return on your investment is the aim, why get involved in football at all?
