Newcastle United vs Everton

can you remember the fan who tried to rip nyarkos shirt off for lack of heart ?

welll yakubu shows less than nyarko imo !

I made that analogy the other day and got jumped on for it although I meant it was a long term possibility. The fans like to see passion, Aj oozes passion and some one wants to take Yak to one side and have a word in his ear. early days yet but that is the ultimate example:mellow:

Let's look at the positives:

Played well today and when Tim and Tom are in the side the pressure will be taken off Joe and Jole, the clean sheets will return and LB the LB will be free to make more runs like the one that got AJ's goal.

JimmyMac is at last coming good, AJ has scored again (I take some of the credit as I took him out of my TFF team this morning, along with the Yak, as I'm a jinx on our players - replaced them with van Persie and Robbie Keane thankyouverymuch (y) ) and we all know the Yak will start getting goals soon. Add to that big Vic is keeping him out of the side and we still have JV to come back...well....

Oh yes - we're all going on a European tour! (y) (y) (y) (y)

lescott, anichebe, johnson and carsley the best players of the match...

....just listening to the phone in, some people think we should play five at the back (3 centre backs) with the 2 full backs pushing up alot, gravesen arteta in the centre, cahill att.mid and the two strikers...id be willing to try anything if i was moyes, especially with the derby coming up.

What's with our defense?

We used to be kings of the clean sheet and the 1-0 win.

I can't count how many goals we've let in recently. Some may say it's the midfield in front of the defense but whatever it is, hopefully the boys can right the ship in back and start shutting down opponents.

.............Howard
....jagielka yobo lescott
neville....................baines
........arteta gravesen
.............cahill
...johnson......mcfadden

i can see the merits of it, away from home id put cars in for mcfadden and play him behind the middle two.

with johnson, and vaughan we have that pace that can expose gaps in opposition defences, mcfadden has some trickery, so who gets frozen out? vic and yak?

I think the way mcfadden played today compared to anichebe, anichbe shjould start ahead of him, mcfadden couldnt do anything, fair enough bad delivery n stuff...but anichebe had to deal with tthe delivery had he made himself a handful to their defence.

No doubt neville's best psotion is at RB not in midfield, our midfield was again shown to be too lightweight and not able to take control, the weakness has to be Osman. Unfortunately both Tim and Tom are not available for a while yet so our midfield weakness will continue. Upfront McF a bit off and Vic harried, who knows if Yak had been able to do any better.

Now Johnson has to have another operation so that is him for a while, a pity after him just finding a scoring touch again. With him out it does ease the striker selection but arguably also limits the manager.

This was always going to be a very very difficult game. Fact is two goals away to Newcastle isnt bad, but you cant expect to go to St James's and concced 3 goals and expect anythign other than a defeat.

There is a whole load of focus on the strikers, but are the defense holding up well? I dont go to games cause i live up in jock land but i havent seen many clean sheets this season.
