Carlo isn't the problem. These players are. Without James, Richarlison and Digne, we have a feeble group of mediocre journeymen sprinkled with a few up-and-coming hopefuls. This defeat - and last week's - was fairly predictable. Of course, when you predict that you are accused of being a pessimist - but it's not pessimism. These players have left us down constantly over the last few seasons. Why would today or last week be any different when the only real creative class in the squad was unavailable?

Ancelotti is basically learning - if he didn't already have confirmation - that his squad overhaul has only just begun. There is very little here for him to work with if you have ambitions higher than upper mid-table.

Think it's more down to being uncompetitive and losing two games against teams we, if we want to be going places, shouldnt lose too
