And me fella , people think it's only early there's plenty of time to sign players , ANY player with a transfer fee who's scored goals before will be out of our price range, so iam intrigued to know who these players our were going to sign who are better than what we have because I watch Football from every league and can't think of one who'd settle for what were prepared to offer

Darren Bent is on 75 k a week plus costs 17 million , you name a player to me now who is out there we could attract to a club not in Europe , willing to accept less , wake up to the real world it ain't happening , the only player we will end up with now will be unproven like a championship type Shayne long , I could have told David Moyes 7 weeks ago if you want a free agent international who scored 8 goals in 12 games back end of the season you will need to pay big wages , don't waste your time chasing Klose and Ba , look at Bothroyd and long it's not rocket science

Peter Odemwingie cost less then a milion and prob was the best all round striker behind Tevez last year in terms of goals and assists per minutes.

Dont tell me the razzle dazzle of a big fee is the be all and end all, Cahill, Lescott, Andy Johnson, Jags were all signed from lower league clubs.

There are a lot out there with better records then Ba annd pprob less then 50k a week:

Sow
Remy
Osvaldo
Podaloski
Vossen

If your bothered their out there - dont beleive all the media rubish - the most important thing we have a manager who can identify a good player within our means.

What ever you want to call it mate beat , win the race , get blown away , we lost out in a 2 horse race for a top draw free transfer with a club who I regard as a circus so what does that say for us??? , I bet your someone who will turn your attention to Charles Nzogbia now hoping we sign him , if we can't beat Newcastle to a free agent mate were gunna struggle in general , we will start the season with Saha , Beckford and Anichebe now because MOST other players may settle for 30-40 k a week but will cost minimum 6 million which we don't have so were fighting a loosing battle

Gary,

I'm going to use a bit of history with you.

Martin Dahlin played less than a full season for Blackburn, after transfering for £2.5million.

He scored 4 goals. Got injured. Had to retire.

Got injured. It went to court because the insurer wouldn't pay out.

Cost Blackburn £4.5million

Consider Ba. At £75k a week

(£2million agents and 3years x 4million contract to player)

That's £12 MILLION if Ba had of gotten injured and his knees.

(£9million if he'd of gone for our wage demand)

Imagine the outrage if that of happened. Everton lose £9million. Big hit to us.

I think Everton may well of gone higher. Except there's other things in play. A TRADEOFF. Our budgets, insurance, his agents etc.

Let Newcastle take the risk I say.

This is very true.
There is a financial liability associated with signing a player on a 3 or 4 year contract who might be a crock.

On the other hand, paying (say ) 9 million for Nzogbia staged over 2,maybe 3 years has a different risk criteria associated with it. There are no known mjr injury probs with NZ so he's more likely to hold ( or even hopefully increase in value ) over the next 2 or 3 years, so yes, you shell out 3 or 4 million this year on his transfer, plus another 4 or 5 million for staged payments, plus his wages BUT he's an asset on the books which you're more confident won't become a liability so it's lower risk

... I think !

I think we learned our lesson with Bilic and AVDM. Ignores Saha.

The Zog would be a terrific signing he ticks the box's on so many fronts - apart from being a bad ted like.

It really is an awful career choice for BA.Newcastle in the process of losing all their best players and he chooses to go their instead of to a team that finished seventh are were disapponted to do so.
