if it is a new stadium it needs to be special. i remember seeing the designs for project Kirby thinking it looked like some intenti-kit lego stadium with no character or identity other than our badge on the side.

I think the fact Joe Anderson has already met with Moshiri gives a big hint.

Dont think it was to welcome him to the club as a supporter.

The only thing the council can offer is land nothing else.

The new guy will be well aware whats on offer location wise.

Now comes the choice , redevelop Goodison with all the pitfalls the option has
ie. Relocate the team while demolition & construction takes place.
Phased development over 4 yrs one stand at a time losing upto 25% matchday revenue over that period.
Taking into account access & egress around the stadium for the same time period.

or.Build a brand new stadium without disrupting the team playing at Goodison .
Sites that have been mentioned lately Stanley Park, Walton Hall Park, Clarence Dock,Sandhills etc.
each have there own merits.

I sure these were the subject of the meeting with Joe Anderson.

oh my choice..... New Stadium in Stanley Park.

Be great if we were the first club in the prem to have safe standing. Works great for Borussia Dortmund and Schalke

I Love Goodison, I have been going there for 41 years with my dad, however, I now live "darn souff" and stadiums like Milton Keynes and even the Ricoh etc are fabulous, great facilities, more revenue earned from people being able to get something to eat or a brew at half time, better safety access and entry, more hospitality revenue. I really think a brand new stadium, on the right site is a must have, very soon.

Just no

It's less than a mile from Goodison.

It's mere existence would drive businesses that could feed of it to expand / arrive.

Choosing a location based on the number of alehouses in the vicinity isn't a prime factor.

The club should be looking to ensure that they retain a much higher percentage of our match day spend anyway, and instead of local pubs etc feeding off us, they should create an environment in a new facility that encouraged us to go there for a bevvy and something to eat instead.

This is what a lot of new football stadiums get wrong imo, they should be laden with sports bars

Id absolutely adore safe standing, still think the best thing they could ever do from a PR perspective to get it through would be to change the name to rail seating. Still a lot of baggage that comes with the term standing.
