I'm a Sunderland fan and was interested about your new stadium.

How do the fanbase feel about the capacity of 52,000 instead of 62,000? I know it can be extended but that is probably dependent on future safe standing regulations.

In general, were fans confident of filling the bigger capacity or worried about empty seats? I personally think your fanbase is big enough for 62,000.

In 1997, when we moved from a decrepit 22,000 Roker Park to the 42,000 SOL, people were worried where the extra fans would come from but it was exactly the right decision.
I think the effect would be even greater with you so I'm interested in what people think.

Hope we can meet in the Premier League someday soon and best of luck for the season

You will like us mate, we are the antithesis of those deluded barcodes.

It's not getting built, and therefore proposed capacities are merely academic.

Good luck and see you back at Goodison Park in 2057.

Roker Park was 22000 only cos it was shagged out though. It wasnt a reflection of your support base.

Would have liked a bigger capacity but I’d be happy just to see a spade in the ground

Sorted.

So do many of us, but we have a majority shareholder and board bereft of ambition to fulfil the dreams of the fanbase.
If/when BMS is built to 52,888 it'll immediately be a smaller capacity than ManU, Arsenal, Spurs, West Ham, Man City and the RS and only marginally larger than NUFC.
Chelsea and Wolves have plans to massively increase Stamford Bridge and Molyneux... so ultimately we'll have at best the ninth biggest ground.

As the stadium gets higher the seats become more expensive to build and generate much less income. That's the reason they gave another 10k seats could have added 50% cost onto the build.
