New Manager v New Players

I don't think he's ever been more focused as a manager.

He's realised he's not got long left in game and we're his last chance saloon.

He's also tasted silverware and he wants it's again.

TFG need to tie him down, back him to the hilt and we'll be successful.

It's on TFG this...Am not interested in this ship steadying,They need to throw their weight behind Moyes here.

Mark my words if he's goes the end of the season and we replace him with another "philosophy manager" were back to square one.

When Moyes left we became just another club doing the managerial okie cokie that lost all identity... surely no one here wants to go down that route anytime soon.

It’s why all the arguing in the Moyes thread is stupid. We’ve literally lived through 10 years post him and got progressively worse to the point of extension in his time not here, it’s not hypothetical, it’s a real life sample.

I think when he was here he always managed us with one eye on the next job, which meant at times hitting the glass ceiling with being risk adverse was better then maybe being ma bit more bold. His career is behind him now and he’s managing with a man intent on substance and take homes as opposed to career progression and longevity.

I’m on record as saying I think he will sign a new contract beyond this one. He’s TFG man, it’s one if the few occasions they have intervened in the club operationally, they vetoed a different appointment and put Moyes in place. He’s currently in powerful position at the club, he has a veto on recruitment. It’s not as all powerful as before, but no one comes through the door without his research and assent.

As for right now on every measure we continue to improve comparatively year on year, while there are inevitable growing pains, there is a huge shift in culture already. It’s been needed for a long, long time.

Moyes is a very rare if not dying breed of manager - one who will not only manage your team, he'll build you a football club.

He’s a comfort blanket and again when he leaves he will hand a humming team and club to the next manager - but I think TFG have really difficult job replacing him - we’re a very difficult club to take in, manage and improve.

It’s a fanbase that hasn’t seen a trophy in 30 years and has to wait decades for derby wins. Think it’s been patient enough.

That doesn't really work tho does it, when you have a total overhaul of your club, it's starting again..

Maybe you should go to the Friedkins and tell them it's been too long. I mean the whole year they have been here is just not an acceptable timeframe to not have bulked up our trophy cabinet..

Still have a huge amount of work to overhaul the squad.

This summer alone we are again looking at another potentially large turnaround of players from the squad - Coleman, Keane, Gana, Patterson, McNeil, Beto, potentially Grealish.

That’s another 7 players likely moving on, with decisions on tarks and Myko in the next year and a half as well really.

Regardless of what we think of their ability, all those players are in the match day squad every week when fit. So that’s 6/7 coming in without even considering increasing total squad number to combat injuries and actually having a bench available.

For me, Moyes sees out his contract and is then moved on having got the squad in a better state (younger players who aren’t ageing out on frees) and done the crap boring work of helping stabilise the club for 2 seasons.
