Quite nice actually.

horrid that, like a second tier yank travel soccer club

I need something to do to keep my mind occupied ahead of the game so here is the New Kits thread for 2023/24. Only posting photos of proper releases/leaks, not mock ups. To be honest so far it is an incredibly mediocre to poor set of kits. Only Liverpool and Man City have officially released their kits in the Premier League.

ok, so I'm a dumb yank and I'll ask out of ignorance, but isn't gold piping usually for clubs that win something?

Doesn’t have to be and kits are designed so far in advance that you can’t really plan ahead for success. They get a gold sleeve patch for winning the league which is the only official detail that champions get. Unlike most American sports our kits change every season so you’ll often get weird little design details to differentiate.

There are some American sports that recognize past championships. MLS adds stars above the crest for teams that have won MLS Cup. NBA teams that have won championships also get a small gold tab on the back of the jersey collar.

They do but tabs and stars are relatively easy to add. Especially say in the big 4 American sports where kit designs rarely change. In football/soccer where kits change every season and the design process starts over a season before the one it is going to be used for you can’t really make actual changes to the style of the kit.

For example with the Arsenal kit for next season. That design will have been in place for a long time and they can’t just add in gold 3 stripes say if they win the league. The kit is set to be released before the final game of the season so production will have been going for a while.

In fact the reason for the gold on the Arsenal kits next season is because it’s the 20th anniversary of the Invincibles season.

I presume we will be wearing a new one on Sunday?

Risky one....if we were to be relegated in it, the kit is dead in the water before it's even released....

Let's just get this season out of the way, hopefully stay up, and start fresh next season
