New Everton Stadium

Any substance to this? Sounds like playground gossip to me
Well, they're working on site and that's the chat within the workforce who know where they are and where they should be at this point if the Stadium had any chance of being ready for the start of the season.
The first three games away is happening and the target is to be ready after the first international break in September but as I said they think October is more realistic as things stand!
Using Goodison as a back up was mentioned as well!

I mean this would be typical Everton wouldn’t it. I’ve commented for a while saying it doesn’t look like anything is happening and also why isn’t the inside being done, a shop, a store, whatever. All seems a bit strange.

Is there a tentative date for the third test event?

You would think at that point if this story is true, then any delay might be more apparent by the time that comes around.

If it's just a few games, then they can let the release of the fixture list do the talking for them.

Otherwise, it might just fall to Kinnear to say something. I'm sure it would be on the lines of needing a little additional time for everything to be looking its best etc.

It's not a thing really as long as it's limited to three or four games, it doesn't become tenable after that, when we've said farewell to Goodison.

Is it 'the chat within the workforce' or is it 'happening', and the workies on site have been informed of what the club's targets and back up plans are? I'm not sure the 2 really add up to be honest.

We are fair old way out for anyone to be saying there’s defo a delay brewing, unless its associated with procuring something (materials or specialist skills) with a very long lead time.
Even then, I’m struggling to think what might have lead to or been requested as a change that would be so necessary that it would jeopardise being ready for next seasons opening games.
Only other thing would be increasing scope / more labour intensive works but there’s more than enough time to up the numbers on site to cope with that.

All in all I’m calling 🐮💩.

One of them is higher level and dealing with the ones 'in the know' if you like!
Probably didn't need the 'chat in the workforce' bit and comments on what they think then did it?

I say that because it would be quite important in understanding what was actually happening. If people working there were saying in their professional opinion it was likely FIVE MONTHS from being ready, then the only real explanation would be actual build problems. There's no way anyone's saying 'oh we might struggle to get all these light fittings done before October' or 'this paint will definitely take longer than 4 months to dry' so you could 100% put that type of thing down as completely made up nonsense.
