New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

Its already 2 years late. Elstone originally said BMD would be open 2021/22 season. Now it's projected for 2023/24. That's before PP or any objections or call-ins or finance problems.

Do you have a link to him saying 2021?

I can only find this and ive seen nothing to suggest a 2024 opening so far :

Our hope, and our target, is the opening game of the 2022/23 season. Be assured that all our efforts during 2018 will be focused on meeting this challenging but achievable target.

Seems to me that the only people backing the importance of being a heritage site are UNESCO themselves and Kopite knobheads whose allegiance to football goes far beyond any consideration for the city (if they're even from there).

Forgetting football for a moment surely it's going to get to a point where the city needs to turn to UNESCO, stadium or no stadium, and tell them to shove their arbitrary paper ranking or they'll forever hold sway over the development of what is for the large part an absolute dump of an area
Did you want Liverpool to win the European cup, even though you knew, as attested to by our own club, that it would be a massive boost to the local economy ?

UNESCO hey? How are they managing with their chosen sites in Syria? Meanwhile they want to make a stand in preserving large areas of the city that were built courtesy of British imperialism and racism. As for BMD - 'Old culture' consisting of a swathe of neglected & derelict land, no access & tumbleweed -v- 'New Culture' thriving regeneration, jobs, services, entertainment, better infrastructure for the future of the city and its citizens. Jaundiced reporting by the likes of the myopic BBC & regurgitated by lazy journalists elsewhere. Visitors and businesses are attracted to the city because it is a great city with multiple attractions, not because of any UNESCO status!
