If I was Peel I would be moving heaven and earth to get this stadium built. We're about to enter a sustained economic slowdown and any prospect of investment in Liverpool waters will dwindle without a big statement. A 55,000 world class stadium is such a statement.

It's a no brainer for all concerned.
