I twice got served incredibly quick at the bar last night and even got asked for ID which made my day considering I look like a bag of spanners.

I know mate. I have no romantic notion that Goodison was perfect. It was dead for a good ten years outside of the occasional game, some of us tried to fix it and never had any luck. I just foolishly viewed the new place as a fresh start and the chance for the club to do something about it but as usual they buggered it up.

Like any new house it takes a while to make and call it 'home'. And, at the very least, we've now removed ourselves from the obnoxious neighbours next door. Their brats will still come to visit us at least once a season but we no longer have to endure the sight of their monolithic shed the other side of the big garden.

Our stadium is impressing everyone - and unfortunately doing a great job of motivating struggling teams right now.

And the away end is there jewel in the crown in terms of the interior of the stadium.

Great stadium, great facility for everyone.But we've got some of this all wrong if we're to make it a bear pit.

The lights work with with the siren and z cars, but the rest is just phoney nonsense.

We should just keep it about football. Sack all that light show rubbish off.

Some people in th South Stand need to realise where they are. Old fellas telling people to sit down in the upper, no wonder the atmosphere wasn't there last night.

There were some absolute space cadets on show last night. Felt like it was going to take us getting to a game like that for them to show themselves.

Fellas screaming within the first five minutes for us to play faster, demanding subs after 15 minutes, and telling people to shut up when they disagreed

I do think we're expecting an awful lot from our fans, many of them cant read the words entrance or exit. The only time the toilets work anywhere near effectively is when a steward is on the exit reading the words for them.

Its time to pinch our noses and push for a singing section. It really should've happened this season but it's better late then never. We can bitch and moan about not wanting it and how its not natural support but its perfectly clear that we need it. Get it sorted now and if nowt can be done this year then get it set up for 2026-27.

Think most grounds are "quiet" or have very short periods of atmosphere. Just the modern day going crowd.
