For me, Goodison holds me no bad memories at all. It's the teams that have let the stadium down, not the stadium. We've been in managed decline for over 30 years and I desperately hope the new stadium brings in the kind of revenue which helps us get back to some kind of normality and possible success.
I won't forgive the countless under performing overpaid wastes of space that have made my eyes bleed, the catastrophic board decisions and managerial appointments that have sent us to the brink more times than I care to remember
I'll never forget the stadium though, that's always been the one positive in an otherwise continuous shitshow that is Everton.
For every painful defeat (and there's been too many), I've got 10 more positive memories in the bank that outweigh that defeat. I'll be gutted to leave though I know it's the right thing to do.
But please remember, Goodison isn't a curse and never has been. She's kept us up against all the odds time and again because she drags us as fans together to create an unstoppable force that has dragged utter tripe over the line time after time after time again.
She deserves our gratitude, our respect, our never ending love.
