Just had a little look inside the stadium in Atlanta, its an absolute belter, blows BM out of the water tbf although it probably cost far more to build.

Yes, it cost more to build but it is on another level on several metrics tbh. Over 70k capacity, quirky closing roof, nearly 200 boxes and several whole corporate tiers etc.

I was hoping to get over for this one, as It's one I havent yet been to, and as I've visited the previous Domed stadium a few times in the 90s, I wanted to see if this was much of an improvement. The roof and ring of video screens look a bit oppressive on the photos, but the angular seating bowl looks quite interesting. Tbh, the old stadium (only built in the 90s) was a fantastic stadium too.

Capacity aside, NFL stadia are completely different to football ones. I suspect most wouldn’t want our grounds to be like them.

Even Spurs’ stadium (which is probably the closest in the UK, doesn’t have lots of the excesses of new NFL stadia.

BMD while obviously nowhere near as structurally complex, is a much better stadium for football.

As I think it’ll prove compared to Spurs stadium as well.
exactly. I dont want other teams liking coming to BMD as its a lovely place to be, I want them to hate going there because its a hostile place for them. I think it will fit the bill just right

The main differences are that there is a far greater onus on having several levels of corporate offer, which then dictates some of the stand geometries..... the side stands are often curved or cranked because views along the full touchlines are very important. Of course for some of them, the end stands are often small or even open-ended because these areas are less popular for their game....... That said, quite a few accommodate both codes very well. Soldier field is much more intimate than MB, and the stadium that this one replaced (the Georgia dome) was probably more football friendly than the current one and wasn't dissimilar to the Bernabeu.
